
Nigeria movie industry Nollywood has yet again lost one of its members and veteran actress Cynthia Nkiru Okereke.
The sad news about Cynthia’s death broke on Wednesday, July 12, when it was reported that the actress died in her sleep.
It was announced with a heavy heart by her colleague in the entertainment industry, Joseph Okechukwu.
According to the filmmaker, he was about to pay for Cynthia Okereke’s flight ticket to come to America but sadly, she died in her sleep on Tuesday at age 63.
Before her passing, the Enugu-born actress has acted in more than 200 Nollywood movies some of which include; King Jaja of Opobo, Osuofia in London, Second Chance, Coronation, Otollo, Sound of Love, Second Burial, Lion Finger, Hidden Tears, Mega Mama, Mr. Ibu’s Wedding Day, etc.
She often played the role of a good mother, grandmother, royal queen and mother in-law in Nollywood movies.
Meanwhile, this month would make it one year since Cynthia survived kidnapping alongside her colleague and actor, Clemson Corel. They were reportedly kidnapped in July 2022 and got released days later.
