• Few people who reacted believe the original actor in the TV series, Ayoola, is best in the role and will be better than having Pere as replacement.
Reactions have trailed social media platforms after the former Big Brother Naija season 6 Shine Ya Eye star, and reality television star, Pere Egbi announced that he would be taking up a role in the popular Nigerian television series, The Men’s Club.
Pere made this announcement on Sunday, November 7, when he posted a photo of the actress, Mimi Chaka, giving him a peck.
Mimi is one of the cast in the TV Series, The Men’s Club, and she plays the role of Tumini.
So, via his caption, Pere indicated that he would be playing the role of Animu, which was a role played by the actor, Ayoola Ayolola in the series.
“It’s on! Meet AMINU. The Men’s Club! @mimichakaofficial Leggo. #TMC #tmcthenewchapter,” Pere wrote.
Shortly after the news made the rounds, social media users, and fans of the TV series took to social media platforms to react on the latest development.
Some of the lovers of the series, who have been conversant with the role of Ayoola in the series, reacted that replacing him with Pere seems like a bad move by the Red TV management.
Despite the fact that Ayoola might be unavoidably available to continue with the role, they insisted that he should continue to play the role, because he does it better.
See some of the reactions below.
@Jollz: “No Ayoola, no Aminuoh Plis that chemistry cannot be replicated.”
@Zanzee_zee: “The Men’s Club people should better wait for Aminu if he is not available at the moment we don’t want Pere as Aminu lts either Ayoola or Ayoola.”
However, Pere’s fans and some other fans of the TV series applauded Red TV, for changing the dynamics of the series by bringing in Pere.
As an actor, Pere’s supporters see him as one of those screen gods who can even do better than Ayoola in the movie when the new series starts to premiere.
Reactions from Pere’s supporters read below.
@Tiwinech: “Ok you say Pere replacing Ayoola is the problem not joining TMC, u wanted him to join TMC as gateman??? Be serious A whole general?? Get Out n stop watching. Let us FOCUS on our new Aminu in peace.”
@iamtemade: “But why are people sad that they replaced Pere for Ayoola, Pere and Ayoola are alike, they have the same body structure, the same hushed voices, they look like twins, I don’t think no one fits it like him, Pere will do justice to that role and I am not even biased here #PereEgbi.”
@bervelynnnn: “Pere is replacing ayoola in TMC. I’m happy for Pere but I’m gonna miss ayoola. I trust Pere to kill his role tho.”
@SwedishRat: “Ayoola is clearly UNAVAlLABLE. Piss off abeg. This ain’t the first timea character is being changed in a series. Direct your rage to Ayoola’s page.”
@prettietee10: “MFs!!! Don’t watch again , Pere didn’t go to tmc to force them to replace aminu, they have their reasons that’s probably because ayoola isn’t available. Pour your aggression on TMC, ayoola and not Pere that was given a role to play, do you expect him to reject the offer?”
@ExcelOly: “Those crying blood that Pere replaced Ayoola keep crying. As e dey pain una e dey sweet us. Can they release the series already.”
@patriots4pere: “If not for Pere I’ve never heard of TMC before, so if TMC lost a 100 fan because Pere is the new Aminu, then they’ve gained a hundred thousand more. The way Pere replaced Ayoola thaťs how Patriots will replace you. Goodbye eh Patriots Pere.”
Meanwhile, as the new series of the Red TV-owned soap opera, The Men’s Club will be dropping soon, it’s important to note that the show last aired in October, 2020, with season 3, episode 13, as the last scene.
