• Ebuka very much concurred that Shine Ya Eye contestants were very cautious in the Big Brother House, there by denying viewers some major contents of the show.
Big Brother Naija host, and former Housemate of the season 1 edition, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has shared his opinion on what it seems to have made viewers say that season 6 show wasn’t that entertaining.
Ebuka, who made this known during his interview with Beat FM Lagos, stated that he agreed with anyone who feels the Shine Ya Eye show wasn’t entertaining enough.
And his reason being that, majority of the Housemates have watched and are fans of the show before they made it into to the House.
So, it was just like, they were very cautious of their actions in there, as against what had happened during the previous seasons.
Ebuka said, “I totally agree with you. If you watched the Sunday live shows. Every other Sunday, I think I told them, entertain us, stop talking about the viewers, stop talking about the votes, stop talking about the show, just enjoy yourself. This is a once in a lifetime experience.
“And I think, Yes, I’ll probably the most… I don’t want to say rehearsed, but we have Housemates who have watched the show for so long. I mean, the show had been on air, this is the sixth one.
“So, I think we’re going to be getting housemates who kind of know what the show is. In the past, even if you had an idea, it’s probably two or three and other bulk of Housemates are probably there to enjoy themselves.
“This year, we probably had a good 60 to 70 percent of those who were fans of the show, who have auditioned four to five times, watched the show, and probably friends of those who have being in the House before.
“So, they came in, I don’t want to say, strategies per se, but, just being extra cautious than usual. So, there were a lot of, ‘let me not do this because the viewers may not like it, or let me do it because the viewers will like it. So, there were a little too much of that.”
