• Paul Okoye indirectly confirmed that it’s true his wife filed for divorce, although he’s so much concerned about the kind of things people say about his family.
Nigerian singer and afropop star, Paul Okoye also known as Rudeboy or King Rudy, the twin brother to Peter Okoye of defunct Psquare brothers, has finally spoken up a week after his wife, Anita Isama-Okoye filed for divorce.
Recall that in the early hours of Friday, August 20, reports made the rounds that after 17 years together and 7 years of marriage, Anita Okoye sent Abuja High Court a petition to end her marriage with Paul Okoye.
The divorce papers also revealed in clear terms, some reasons Anita had gone ahead to file for divorce despite being Paul’s partner since University days.
However, in an exclusive interview with media personality and Cool FM Lagos On Air Personality, Do2dtun, Paul said that it’s worrisome seeing disgusting things general public say about his family.
The singer made it clear that family problem is nobody’s business and Okoye family deserves peace.
He also emphasized on the fact that people’s choice should always be respected because people can wake up one day and decide that they don’t want to be in your life anymore.
Paul said, “Like I always tell people, it is so unfortunate that family problem which I think is nobody’s business to know, but it’s so unfortunate that Psquare has to pay the price for it.
“One thing I promise myself not to do, let the Okoye family just have the peace that I think they are having now.
“I hate waking up anytime and just see people saying things you know, whatever that happened is just a thing of choice and one thing you need to do is to try and respect people that wake up one day and say they don’t want to do anymore, okay.
“I am a family man and sometimes when I see issues and it goes to the media, I will be like I wish one person can just zip it. You know why? People will get tired but you see when you talk, you know.
“So, for me, it’s like I think we’ve rested for more and we are the highest, even ‘Boys II men no reach that level.”
