• Cubana Group chairman, Obinna Iyiegbu has advised that if anyone wishes to be successful, the person should work hard, pray and be good to others.
Billionaire businessman, Mr Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana has narrated how he struggled back in the days to work hard for the wealth he has now.
According to him, life was never easy at the time, because he had so many stories to tell concerning how he tried so many things and failed but consistency kept him going.
Speaking during an interview with BBC Pidgin, the Oba, Anambra State-native urged Nigerian youths to desist from seeking wealth through illegal means, adding that he doesn’t have “soap” to cut for anyone (implying that he can’t help anyone illegally).
Adding further, Mr Iyiegbu said that his breakthrough and success came when he made his first one million naira after his National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in Abuja, capital city of Nigeria.
Cubana revealed that he was introduced to real estate business in Abuja where he met a client who wanted to furnish a house.
And after working and furnishing the house for the client, he was surprised with N500,000, plus over N600,000 he made in profits from the work.
This automatically put him up as a millionaire for the very first time and he couldn’t be more prouder to say he worked hard to be successful.

He said: “That was the first N1.1 million I made before I joined contract work in Abuja. I signed a contract with PPMC, made a little money, then bought my Mercedes V-boot. I invested the money I made into a garden beer parlour before I established Cubana Group.
“Miracle can’t give you money because the pastor needs money more than you. Native doctor can’t give you money either. If you want money, you have to work hard.
“If you are in your 20s, work now. I am 46 years (old), I have done my first half. I don’t know why someone who is just 20 years (old) will say he has not made it when he still has 50 years 60 years ahead. There is no soap to cut for anybody, there is no soap anywhere, work, pray, be good, make your own soap.”
