• Naira Marley and Gifty have a thing to tell celebrities like Dencia who reside abroad and are known for renting and buying cars on loan just to show-off and pressurize people.
Controversial singer and California-based Cameroonian native Dencia had on Monday shaded Nigerian singers Davido and Burna Boy over their Rolls Royce cars.
Dencia, who took to her Twitter page bragged that each of her three Rolls Royce is more expensive and luxurious than the ones own by Davido and Burna Boy.
She further claimed that she was one of the first people who bought Rolls Royce Wraith when it first came out in 2014 adding that her latest Rolls Royce was bought for a whopping $500,000, plus her other acquisitions like Rolls Royce Cullinan and Aventador being expected soon.
However, shortly after her post, Nigerian celebrities began reacting and some of the well-known people who reacted include singer Naira Marley and former Big Brother Naija season 2 See Gobe reality television star Gifty Powers.
According to Naira Marley, most of the celebrities who own car(s) outside Africa are driving them on loan and as long as he doesn’t see Dencia in Africa with the cars she’s claiming as her own, she’s on “buy now pay later”.
“I don’t care what car you’re in. If it’s not in Africa then its finance. Loooooool those buy now pay later,” Naira Marley posted via his Snapchat.
And Gifty while reacting, made it clear that some of these celebrities who come out to show-off their new cars are mostly the ones who buy theirs on credit. And they’re usually allowed to pay the automobile dealer on monthly basis depending on the agreement.
The reality TV star also advised that celebrities should desist from pressurizing their fans all in the name of posting or showing off their luxurious cars.
Gifty Powers wrote; “It’s actualy funny when people buy cars and still make it sound like na only dem wet sabi fit cross that path unto buying such cars. Make una calm down biko.
“Y’all should stop pressuring your fans. I aint trusting no no one. Smh. Every car you see, is on credit. Whether you be musician o, actor o, singer o, kafachan o, all na credit.
“The good part is every month you can pay it as little as you can afford (depends on you and the car seller tho). Even if you’ve got the money to buy it at once, just know na yourself dey invite the FBI, because las las we all go know wenti dey ground because IG is a community on its own. Lol.
“So Whether RR or Benz or limo or undertaker or heaven car or one car door, all na under credit. Period!!!! FIY: I ain’t beefing no one, I’ve just had it to my vocal cords.
“Just because I don’t show off does not mean I don’t have it. Y’all need to stop with the local mentality. I’m not just the type that shows off. Period!
“I hardly even post on my IG sef, not to talk of showing off. How Mr brown does it, might not be the same with Mr William.
“Showing off materials things is the least of my problem. Y’all know the responsibilities of an ADA? and a wife, mother and businesswoman? Chei… I’ve got lots on ma mind y’all.
