• Mr Remi is positive that soon enough, the old men in the government would become memes in the eyes of Nigerians who would by then have every reason to live and express themselves freely.
Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has lend a voice on the issues currently invoked in Nigeria which happens to be the ban of micro-blogging and social networking app Twitter by the federal government.
Recall that Nigeria government on Friday last week stated that it won’t allow Twitter to operate in the country again after it deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet.
The tweet where Buhari warned he will punish secessionists if they continue to pose division in the country, was taken down by the US-owned platform citing violation of Twitter policy.
However, Kunle Remi while reacting to the news just like other concerned Nigerians asked government how do citizens now reach out to each other when they wish to send some messages across.
And how do Nigerians open each other’s eyes concerning the fake and ungodly promises politicians have made to them just to get them to support their greedy objectives.
Remi is worried on how people who lost hope and want more from government would connect with each other to demand for good governance. It’s appalling to the actor that all these weren’t put into consideration before the ban.
He said; “Now, how do we reach all those people that don’t have Twitter or Instagram? The ones they give a bag of rice and onions to get their votes.
“How do we influence them and open their eyes to see it’s all crumbs they have been handed. How do we reach out to the ones.. who lay down their lives for them on the promise of a meal that never last forever.
“How do we connect to those who have lost hope? How do we connect to those who want more, who wants better, those who want good leadership. How do we reach out??”
The award winning actor affirmed that the old men in the Nigeria government have fewer than 10 years to finish up with their malign aim. And when the time elapses, Kunle added that they will all become memes and means of mockery to the citizens.
“I give all these Old men leading this country 10 years. They will all be history. Best part of this is.. They no longer teach history in schools. So We will only remember them as memes,” he posted.
Meanwhile, Remi had earlier in a video posted on his Instagram page beckoned on Nigerians to prioritize more on praying for the country. And following his statement, BBNaija reality TV star Tacha countered the actor suggesting more work than prayer.
Tacha noted that it’s becoming obvious that Nigeria needs more work because its all about the future of the citizens and not anything else, adding that prayer without good work is completely dead.
