• Yul Edochie took out time to remember how hard his dad and mom worked to train him and his siblings and now as he gets older, with each passing day, he sees more reasons to thank his parents for their unconditional love and sacrifices.
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has recounted the old memories about his dad Chief Pete Edochie‘s unconditional love to him and his 5 other siblings.
The actor who took to his Instagram page on Friday, June 4, 2021 noted that at a time while his dad was raising him and 5 other of his children, he had only four pairs of trousers, which were black, brown, blue and grey in colour.
He continued that despite having a limited number of what he wears, he never cared to bother himself, plus he hardly buy things for himself because all he cared was to take good care of his family and giving his kids the best.
Yul recounted that his dad was a civil servant at the time before going into movie business and even though there wasn’t much money, he would never take anything that doesn’t belong to him. And if they, (his children) return from school and the dad sees that they came back with someone’s property, he would flog them mercilessly.
The actor remembered vividly that amongst many things, his dad and mom thought them to be contented with what they have, work hard, believe in God and be upright citizens.
He however added that now he’s getting older, with each passing day, he sees enormous reasons to appreciate his lovely dad and mom for all the great sacrifices they made in training them.
He wrote; “At a time, while raising us his six children, this great man had only 4 pairs of trousers.
Black, brown, blue and grey.
But he never cared.
He hardly bought new things for himself.
All he cared about was taking care of his family and giving his children the best.
“Then he was a civil servant, before the movies came.
There wasn’t much money but he would never take anything that doesn’t belong to him.
Then if we come back from school with anyone’s pen or book, your nyash go catch fire for him hand.
Amongst many other things, my parents taught us to be content with whatever we have, work hard, believe in God and be upright citizens.
“All he kept on saying was this ‘if I give my children the best training and the best education they will survive anywhere and they’ll never lack and I will be a fulfilled father’.
Now that I’m older, with each passing day I appreciate you and mum so much more.
Thank you.
Thank you Dad.
Thank you Chief Pete Edochie @peteedochie
Thank You.”
Meanwhile, Yul Edochie had once revealed that he is the last child in the family of six (6) children, and owning to that, he listed names of his other siblings as Leo, Uche, Linc, Gene, and then a daughter.
