• Renowned controversial man of God Odumeje has sparked so much outrage as he was spotted in a viral video lifting a sacred object meant to be handled by only the ordained priests and clergies.
Nigerians and Catholic faithfuls have reacted to the viral video of Onitsha, Anambra-based man of God Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere popular known as Prophet Odumeje Indaboski lifting an ostensorium of the Blessed Sacrament.
The video which was posted by an Instagram blog Sabiradio indicated that the incident allegedly took place in a Church in Delta State.
But it wasn’t certain whether the self-acclaimed Liquid Metal did that in a Catholic Church or a pentecostal church, even though many insisted that it happened in an Orthodox and not Catholic Church.
The video which has moved round social media showed Odumeje covered in a sacred vestment as a man alleged to be a priest stood beside him directing him on how to handle the scared object.
Some religious faithfuls were also seen present during the worship and most of them stood in awe as Indaboski does what is assumed he never did before.
However, many Catholic faithfuls have found this as sort of sacrilege (if really it happened in a Catholic Church) for a pentecostal pastor to be allowed to lift what only an ordained Catholic priest and clergies handle.
Some even suggested in their reactions that the priest who allowed Odumeje to handle the sacred object must be excommunicated and definitely punished.
Watch video…
Below are some of the reactions.
@jonesgoody; “That parish priest should be excommunicated for allowing such nonsense, what is this catholic church in east turning to? is this pastor ordained a priest?oh my God
nigeria why do we over do things? this is disturbing to watch..”
@debbymma_; “So blessed sacrament is now a playing thing is a pity.”
@iam_ozor; “This can’t be a catholic church, nah! It can’t be.. I can bet anything on this! This isn’t catholic church.”
@sheila_coker; “This in an insult to our Catholic church and doctrine. That Priest must be punished.”
Some other people who reacted noted that the incident actually happened in an Orthodox Church.
@iamsomebody; “That’s orthodox thou and not catholic.”
@theophyll2; “This isn’ta Catholic church ooo. 1. The liturgical colors for ordinary time is green and white not gold and white. 2. Veneration of the blessed sacrament without a turifer and the 7 stand candle. 3. That’s not how an altar is set for veneration of the blessed sacrament, its never bare. This isn’t even a church cos where’s the tabernacle???”
And here are some pictures.
