• Tolanibaj noted in a Twitter post that she got fired by a record label simply because she spoke up for her rights.
• According to her, the music label owed her salary for months making her to stop coming for work, hence, her sack.
Media personality and former Big Brother Naija season 5 Lockdown reality television star and ex-housemate, Tolanibaj has shared her experience after she was badly maltreated by Nigerian employer.
On Twitter platform, Tuesday, February 2, a Nigerian man identified as Timi Ajiboye recounted some inhumane treatment, such as owing of salaries being meted out on employees.
He worried about how so many Nigerian employers get away with such atrocious act simply because the employee has no other option.
“Nigerian employers get away with a lot of bullshit (like owing salaries ad infinitum) partly because most people don’t have [better] options. Even if you quit, there’s likely someone else willing to take such abuse,” Mr Ajiboye wrote.
However, Tolanibaj retweeted Timi’s post applauding his audacity on speaking up for his right. She then recalled how she got fired from a record label in Nigeria for speaking up for her rights.
According to TBaj, the music label in question connived with the industry itself to silence her by trying to hide the main reason she got fired which was because she was owed for months.
She advised that people should always be courageous to speak up for their right at places of their works.
“Yes! Thank you for speaking up. I got fired from a record label here in Nigeria for speaking up for my rights. I was owed for months & I stopped going to work & pled via email for my money,” Tolanibaj began.
“The music industry tried to silence me by trying to hide the MAIN reason why I got fired. Never be afraid to speak up for your rights🤗❤️,” she added.
