Pepper Dem reality television star and ex-housemate cum 2019 winner, Mercy Chinenyenwa Eke has cried out after she got scammed today, Friday, January 22.
In an Instagram live video, the reality television star stated that fraudster called her pretending to be a bank staff and in the process, she got defrauded of certain amount of money.
Mercy however advised people to be careful on who they answer their calls as many daredevils wander around defrauding people of their hard-earned money.
The Imo State-native also mentioned that banks should desist from calling customers so people can easily identify who’s about scamming them.
She also added that she has blocked the bank through which the scammer came and she’s never going to deposit any money there again.
Mercy’s words read, “I said, you should be careful. I just got scammed this morning. You should be careful.
“Any number that calls you that looks like bank… because that why it’s paining me the most. Please, do not fall for it.
“Bank maintenance, go to the bank to rectify it. Anything, go to the bank. Do not do anything via… infact, bank should stop calling. I think bank should stop calling us.
“They should stop calling so that when people call you, you know where the call is coming from.
“And for the bank, I’m waiting for… infact, return my money, because… even though you’ve lost me, the bank has lost me, I am not going to put one naira there again. If they return the money, then we see.”
