However, after fans and supporters lashed out at her for not keeping to her words, Vee came out to give reason she sealed the deal.
In her statement, Vee simply noted that Gleam Skincare is not a skin-bleaching brand rather a skin-lightening products which she tested for over a month before accepting to work with them.
Vee still insisted that she would never represent any brand that deals on skin-bleaching as that won’t go well with her personality.
She explained, “I’l state this for the Iast time (even though I don’t owe ANYONE an explanation) I would never put a whitening/bleaching cream on my body.
“Firstly, I put my pride aside and used their products ONLY for over a month. I did my research on the ingredients inside and went ahead because they were natural.
“Like most skincare brands in Nigeria, they also cater lighter skinned people. But they are NOT a bleaching company. Something I said I would never be the face of.
“Please be aware that I do my research before I make my decisions. I’m very aware of how colourism affects darker skinned people in today’s society & how much of an issue it is in this country.
“I’m not light skinned, nor do I intend on becoming lighter I made that tweet knowing fully well I was going to team up with Gleam because I KNOW WHAT I AM DOING.
“I don’t expect some of you to understand. And yes, this signing may seem controversial, but I sticking to my words. Whatever you want to believe is up to you.
“Lastly, my skin has become healthier. Not lighter. Not whiter. And l’d gladly promote something I believe in. Thank you.”
