Billionaire businessman Terry Waya, the father to Big Brother Naija Lockdown Housemate Kiddwaya has disclosed the reason he allowed his son attend his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abia State, Nigeria.
Mr Waya stated during an Instagram live session with media personality Dele Momodu on Tuesday, September 8 that he purposely allowed his son to undergo his service year in Abia so as to make him feel pains of average Nigerians.
He continued that his belief at that time was the fact that NYSC shouldn’t be influenced for privileged children to learn about other cultures and tribes.
Terry Waya added that he wanted his son to appreciate his upbringing when he finally steps out to do things on his own.
He said: “Kiddwaya got posted to Abia state for his NYSC and I did not influence it even when my friends asked me to bring him back to Abuja because I believe NYSC is for Nigerians to learn about other tribes and states.
“I allowed him serve there and stay in camp so he could feel the pains of an average Nigerian. When you see what the average Nigerian is going through you will value the people that work for you which he did and he ended up appreciating me for his upbringing.”
