Nigerian music star, Innocent Udeme Udofot professionally known as MC Galaxy has alleged that Nigerian music industry is filled with tribalism.

During an Instagram live chat with filmmaker, Bola Adebayo in her Gist With Bola Adeboye over the weekend, the Akwa Ibom State native emphasized on how his several hit songs didn’t garner any prestigious award.
As such, the singer simply stated that the award organizers are Yoruba tribe and do not nominated other tribes in any award category.
He continued that all his popular songs, like Sekem, Nek Unek, Oha, Fine Girl, etc which he knows are smash hits did not receive any award from the music industry’s prominent “Yoruba” organizers.
Galaxy also noted that he hasn’t depended on anybody since he observed the nepotism, tribalism and favouritism in the music industry. This and many other similar reasons made him see Nigerian Music Award as Yoruba Awards.
