After the news about some Nigerian governors like Nyesom Wike of Rivers State suspending social gathering and lockdown order broke out, so many critics have commented against it stating that it’s not yet safe and healthy for people to be allowed to embark on social gathering since there are still Covid-19 cases arising in the country.
The ban however was lifted in order to allow people celebrate the Holy Week and Easter on Sunday April 12.
One of the persons that spoke against the suspension is music star and former House of Reps aspirant, Banky Wellington who asked whether the governors had an agreement with Coronavirus to lift social and public gathering ban.
So for the State Governments that have suspended isolation & social distancing for Easter… do they have an agreement with the Corona virus that it will also go on Easter break as well? These our "leaders" sha. Kai. 🤦🏾♂️🚶🏾♂️— Banky Wellington (@BankyW) April 10, 2020
Meanwhile, online critic and Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu came from a different angle to lash out at Banky.
Uche asked him to tell Nigerians how many families in his local government area he has donated relief items to during the lockdown in Lagos before he starts to ask if some governors who lifted the ban on public gathering for christians to celebrate Easter have an agreement with Coronavirus.
The actor prayed to God of Big Brother Naija reality star, Mercy Eke to give Banky spiritual understanding so as to know charity begins at home and that he should have first helped his people before countering any governor’s decision.
Read Uche’s post below;
“@bankywellington Charity begins at home, how many household in EtiOsa have you given foodstuff during #Covid19 lockdown? May the God of Mercy give you spiritual understanding…
“Dear #Bankyw, before you allegedly ask if some Governors who lifted the ban on public gathering for christians to celebrate #Easter have an agreement with #coronavirus, kindly tell Nigerians how many families in your own local government area have you donated food stuff to during this painful lockdown in #Lagos?
“As someone who once tried to allegedly represent #Etiosa but lost in a free and fair election, also, bearing in mind that Etiosa allegedly has the highest number of coronavirus cases in Lagos, tell us the little stipend and palliative you have given out to the poor and vulnerable in your village in this past few days?
“Wait, when they ban Okada and keke napep in Lagos, did uncle banky react? But if it was #UBER Governor #Babajidesanwoolu ban, will uncle banky react?”
