Nigerian born Africa’s most followed standup comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has called on the Nigerian government at all levels to make lockdown provisions for Nigerians if the country must witness an effective lockdown exercise.
AY made this call on Saturday, April 25, 2020 on his Twitter and Instagram pages.
Taking to his Twitter page, the comedian first of all acknowledged the importance and need for social distancing but however pleaded with the Nigerian leaders not to misunderstand social distancing to mean distancing themselves away from the needs of the poor masses during lockdown.
Writing further, he pleaded with those in authority not to isolate their brains and quarantine their minds from the needs of helpless Nigerians.
Tweeting on the microblogging platform, AY wrote;
“Social distancing is an important response to the pandemic, but that does not mean that those in authority should isolate their brains and quarantine their minds from the needs of helpless Nigerians. Make lockdown provisions for your citizens like other countries. At all at all na winch.”
