Hours after ex-Big Brother Naija stars Mercy Eke and Mike Edwards won the awards for Best Dressed Male and Female at AMVCA 2020, Nigerian stylist, Toyin Lawani of Tiannah Empire took to her Instagram page to blast Africa Magic, saying Mike and Mercy aren’t the Best Dressed celebrities.
In her words, “Most of my looks didn’t make it the red carpet but all these Best Dressed are jokes. Ok let’s even forget my own dresses, that Nana lady and Denola looked nice as hell. See everyone is entitled to their opinion like the rest of the world, but when tiannah talks it means she’s spoiling other people’s work, common give yourself and your village people sense. Caption this.”
However, Toyin’s former apprentice and stylist, Swanky Jerry whose client, Mercy Eke won the Best Dressed female award, counters her post with a response stating that she’s only jealous for not seeing any of her works make it on the list of Best Dressed.
Swanky advises Toyin to go and rest if she’s tired of being a stylist as there are more hardworking designers and stylist whose works played major role in making most celebrities at the award show look awesome.
