The current social media trend is of Nigeria rap star, M.I Abaga who took to his Twitter page to respond to music star, Akon’s tweet where he called Wizkid little brother.
African-American singer, Akon tweeted earlier that he and Wizkid who he called lil bro was at AfroNation show in Ghana with a picture of them on stage.
Me and my lil bro @wizkidayo at AFRONATION Ghana! pic.twitter.com/PjsgXpIsju

M.I Abaga however, took to his own Twitter page to reply Akon saying that he should chill with the little brother stuff. This implies that Akon shouldn’t have referred Wizkid to as little brother considering the height he’s attained in the music game.
OG abeg chill with that lil bro yan https://t.co/pdHteEtZVW

Meanwhile, many Nigeria social media users have taken to the platform to lash out at M.I for such comment.
Many of them took the dimension that Akon is as more accomplished in the music game than Wizkid who could even in turn refer Akon as big brother.
Judging by the tweets from these users below, you’ll likely observe that no one tried to understand the point M.I. was trying to make though his reason was very clear.
See some of the comments below;
I am very sure Akon had no ill intention calling Wizkid lil bro , they aren’t even competitors to start with, they have no business linking them , two different men , but the typical Nigerian mind in MI picked an offence .. Same MI who called vector son 🤦🏾♂️ pls 2020 no bad vibes .

Even Wizkid will call Akon “Egbon.” Is it age, number of global hits, net worth, International awards, charity works across Africa and beyond. Akon is light years ahead.

Because somebody is the toast of the globe now no mean say we no go respect our elders. Akon is a Legend.
Lol guess MI is banting because I dont see how Wizkid is not Akon's Little Brother on all Levels. From Accomplishments to Age & Status Wizkid is his Little Brother.

Moreover, after viewing some of these comments from Nigerians, M.I returned with another tweet confirming that Wizkid had accomplished and overcome larger obstacles which makes him little brother to none.
He however advised that Africans should value who they’re and what people have accomplished, which is how Africa will rise.
I have an opinion: few African artists in diaspora actually did anything to REALLY help the movement.. as a fan of Wizkid (which I am) I don't see Wiz as lil bro to Akon.. he has overcome larger obstacles to accomplish way more (in my eyes).. In my opinion Wiz is lil bro to none

I have shared my opinion.. you don't agree. Cool!!! that caption should say 'with my bro and icon'.. again my opinion..

Value what we are.. what we have.. what we have accomplished over everything else.. that is how Africa will rise..
