The social media (Instagram) account of the notorious fraudster, Ismaila Mustapha professionally known as Mompha (@mompha on Instagram) is currently unavailable. It has been deactivated by unknown person after reports about the arrest of his three accomplices.
Hamza Koudeih, a Lebanese reported to have been arrested by the operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Saturday, October 26 after a three-hour raid at his N1.8 billion luxury apartment in the 33-storey Eko Atlantic Pearl Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Before his arrest, he was seen hiding inside the ceiling at the topmost apartment in the Eko Atlantic Pearl Tower after his wife who was in the room told EFCC that he jumped out of window.
According to THE NATION ONLINE through EFCC Lagos Zonal Head, Mr. Mohammed Rabo, a fire-proof safe containing different charms and talismans in calabashes were found in Hamza’s bedroom
“Actionable intelligence received from local and international law enforcement agencies had revealed that Koudeih and Mompha alongside their collaborators are high valued targets in Organised Cyber Syndicate Network (OCSN)”, Mr Rabo added
However, Rabo continues that Mompha operates with a fake company known as Ismalob Global Investments Limited and the nationality of the two other suspects arrested alongside Hamza was not yet known.
“Investigations have also revealed that Mompha uses a firm known as Ismalob Global Investments Limited to perpetrate about N14 billion money laundering while Koudeih also operate two firms namely: THK Services Limited and CHK properties Limited to launder about N19 billion.”
Meanwhile, it happens that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission discovered 51 Nigerian bank accounts opened by Mompha for money laundering.
The anti-graft agency also revealed that the five wristwatches recovered from Mompha at his arrest on Friday 18, October 2019 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja are worth over N60 million, rather than the N20 million earlier thought.
