Nigeria is one of those countries where transgender individuals are not fully recognised or cherished. This gender of being is on the other hand seen as respected too because of their special character.
It has also, become a regrettable attitude for some male gender to turn themselves to female gender by surgery or mere act of behaviour. This doesn’t go in line with the Nigerian culture.
Little did we know, those set of individuals live their lives and there is nothing to be done about it. They weren’t born that way, YES, but they chose to live that way. Why not mind our business so they live their lives the way they chose to? Some may rhetorically ask.
Life permits everyone to run race on a track assigns to oneself. Although, in some cases, it’s an absolute quagmire.
Just recently, Nigerian afropop singer, Jaywon took to his photo-sharing platform, Instagram to gush out an opinion over the gay.
This Year crooner wrote on his Instastory saying that he sometimes wish to ask these gays in Nigeria why they do what they’re doing. He went on to say that he understands that it’s only few that are born not to like their bodies and wish to swap it for another. But is that why one should become what he’s not, he wondered.
He concluded by saying that he fully understands that hunger and poverty are the prominent cause of their actions.
