A youth group called West African State League is taking singer Peter Okoye to court
The said group took to there Instagram page to decry the act of total negligence and unprofessionalism displayed by the “One More Night” crooner.
The group is accusing the singer of scamming and defrauding them. It was gathered that Mr Peter Okoye failed to show up for the event he was meant to perform in, even after receiving a payment to the tune of 2.8 million Naira.
This event was the inauguration ceremony of West Africa State League organised by the West Africa Youth Support Development Forum in partnership with West Africa Youth Council.
The event was slated to take place at Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, Delta State.
From the screenshots posted on their Instagram handle, the supposed payment was done in instalments. It was also stated that all efforts to get the artiste refund the money has proved abortive.
The group also shared the screenshots of letter of refund sent to Mr P by their lawyer which he obviously ignored.
The West African Youth Council have made their resolve known to follow up the case with court actions and has also made demands for damages for the expenses incurred in preparation for the artiste’s arrival.
After much expression of disdain for the unprofessional act by the singer, the group closed there statement with this lines; “This is very bad, that the person we the youths are looking up to is the one who failed us.”
